Exceptional Accuracy

In separate clinical trials, Dexcom has demonstrated the sensor accuracy of the Dexcom G5® Mobile CGM System in adult1 and pediatric use2. With an overall MARD‡ of 9%1 for adults and 10%2 for pediatrics (ages 2 – 17). These same studies observed a hypoglycemia detection rate, at an alert level set to 80 mg/dL, of 90% and 91%, respectively.

‡MARD is a statistical measure of accuracy accepted as the industry standard for CGM systems; the lower the number, the better.

Alerts and Built-In Hypo Alarm for Active Monitoring

Whether sleeping, exercising or in a business meeting, there are times when patients can’t check their glucose levels. The low and high alerts and built-in hypo alarm (55 mg/dL) provided by the Dexcom G5® Mobile CGM System are critical and potentially lifesaving features, allowing patients or their caregivers to take appropriate actions to course correct hyper- and hypoglycemic events.3

Widespread Coverage

Medical Benefit Coverage

Coverage of CGM for type 1 diabetes is offered for 98% of commercially insured members, and many plans also provide coverage for members with insulin-using type 2 diabetes.II Additionally, The Dexcom G5® Mobile CGM System is the first therapeutic CGM system covered as a Medicare benefit.

Pharmacy Benefit Coverage

Dexcom CGM Systems are covered as a pharmacy benefit by the top pharmacy benefit managers (PBMs), and we are continuing to expand access through partnerships with regional and national health plans. For patients with CGM covered as a pharmacy benefit, their Dexcom CGM prescription may be processed at local retail pharmacies.
