Help your patient get started with the Dexcom G6.

Many of your commercially insured patients have pharmacy benefits for Dexcom G6. Find out if your patients have coverage by e-prescribing Dexcom G6 today.

The Dexcom G6 features an easy-to-use sensor applicator1 that helps your patients manage their diabetes. But ‘easy’ applies to more than device users—it also extends to providers. Dexcom’s pharmacy-first, e-Prescribe approach streamlines the prescribing process. It minimizes your team’s paperwork, while maximizing prescription coverage and cost savings.

Although written prescriptions are an option, e-Prescriptions offer greater convenience for you and your patients.

E-Prescribing is...

  • DIRECT: E-Prescriptions allow the electronic transmission of prescriptions straight to a pharmacy, through a patient’s Electronic Health Record (EHR).
  • WELL-KNOWN: Most prescribers primarily use e-Prescribing now, and it’s required by a number of states.
  • SIMPLE: E-Prescribing puts the ‘e’ in easy, for prescribers and patients alike.

Steps to e-Prescribe

  1. Enter Dexcom G6 into your e-prescribing software
  2. Click on each component that needs to be prescribed (please be sure to select all 3)
  3. Select the quantity dispensed and number of refills
  4. Sign order and select Pharmacy
PRODUCT QUANTITY REFILLS
DEXCOM G6 RECEIVER KIT 1-PACK ONCE A YEAR
DEXCOM G6 TRANSMITTER KIT 1-PACK EVERY 3 MONTHS
DEXCOM G6 SENSOR KIT 3-PACK EVERY 30 DAYS

E-Prescribing Tips

  • When setting up e-Prescribe in an EHR, provide the IT or EHR lead with the following information: component names (receiver, transmitter, and sensor), refill quantities, and NDC codes.
  • Keep in mind that there may be variations in EHR health systems. Even offices that use the same EHR system may have different functionalities and customizations, which can affect the process from office to office.
  • If you have trouble adding the Dexcom G6 to a new e-Prescription order, it may be due to a lag in the system’s refresh or sync. New prescription products are routinely added to EHR systems, but the timing of when they appear for e-Prescribe may vary.
