Dexcom Smart Basal is a basal insulin dosing optimizer designed for adults with Type 2 diabetes on glargine U-100 long-acting insulin therapy. Dexcom Smart Basal must be activated by a doctor. Dexcom G6 Pro will be discontinued as of July 2026. A replacement product is planned for the near future. Development is underway and we will share updates as soon as they are available. We expect inventory to become limited as we approach the discontinuation date, so we recommend placing any final orders by March 2026 to ensure you receive the quantities you need.
Medicare patients who are in warranty should contact their DME provider to upgrade to Dexcom G7 or Dexcom G7 15 Day and receive a new compatible receiver.
Yes, if your patients use a Dexcom receiver (like the image below) with the Dexcom G6 system, it can be updated to be compatible with Dexcom G7 or Dexcom G7 15 Day.
